One of the most recurring phrases I’ve ever heard is “the biggest obstacle to a (indie) game development is the lack of fundings”. The lack of fundings is a real fact, especially in Italy. No one will ever give you fundings to allow you to develop your game if you’re a startup.
The question is: why do we complain about that? A bigger question is: why should anyone believe in you if you don’t even believe in yourself?
Everyone can finance his little project (if the project wasn’t small then the problem would be different), devoting himself (and his time) to the development. Everybody has spare time. One can allocate that in order to maintain the project. If the dimension of the project is correct, this will work.
So, our decision is to start with a small project.
